Become a Volunteer
Volunteers are the heart and soul of the All Stars Project. It's the spirit of giving, led by our volunteer community that guides all of our work. The All Stars Project has won many awards for its volunteer program. In 2000 the All Stars Project was named "Best Volunteer Site for Working People" by Mutual of New York (MONY).

Questions about volunteering
Do I need experience to volunteer?
No experience is necessary, only a willingness to help.
How much time does volunteering take?
There is no minimum time commitment.
Can I do more than one thing?
Yes. Volunteers are often involved in several programs, depending on their interests.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteers are a driving force in all the programs of the
All Stars Project: Volunteers help to produce our community
talent shows and recruit young people to perform; volunteers
work in our theatre on costumes, sets, tech, house staff,
audience development, marketing and fundraising; volunteers
organize our special events like our glitzy galas;
and volunteers provide the nuts and bolts support to our business,
public relations and graphic design departments.
One of our
biggest volunteer needs is helping to staff performances in
our three on-site theatres we call it house staff.
House staff includes everything from ushering, house managing,
working in our café, taking tickets, staffing security
posts and more. All volunteers receive training and work as
part of an ensemble consisting of youth and adults.
Will I receive training?
Yes. Volunteers receive on the job training and are encouraged to attend various All Stars workshops and meetings.
Are internships available for college credit?
Yes. Speak with us and your school to find out if you are eligible.
